The VTCT Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing prepares you for a role as a junior stylist. You’ll learn to cut, colour, style, and finish hair while developing strong consultation and customer service skills. This hands-on course also covers reception duties, sustainability, and workplace professionalism—giving you the complete foundation to progress confidently in your hairdressing career.
Gain hands-on experience in cutting, colouring, styling, and finishing hair. You’ll also build key client consultation, communication, and salon reception skills. This course includes core training in shampooing and conditioning, plaiting and twisting, and developing professionalism in the workplace—giving you the confidence and technical ability to become a junior stylist.

What’s Included?
- Study Programmes are designed for young people aged 16–19 (or up to 25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan). These full-time programmes combine:
- A vocational qualification (such as Beauty or Hair)
- English and maths (if you haven’t yet achieved grade 4/C at GCSE)
- Work experience or industry placements
- Personal development and career preparation
You’ll be in a supportive learning environment with access to tutors, pastoral care, and career guidance.
Am I Eligible?
To enrol on a fully funded Study Programme, you must:
- Be aged 16 to 19 on 31st August before the academic year starts
- Be living in England and eligible for state education funding
- Not already hold a full Level 3 qualification (depending on the programme)
We also welcome learners with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) up to age 25.
