The VTCT Level 3 Skills NVQ Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing is designed for learners looking to build advanced, industry-ready salon skills. You’ll develop expertise in cutting, colouring, styling and bridal hair, alongside consultation, health and safety, and retail skills, preparing you for confident employment and progression within a commercial salon environment.
You’ll develop advanced, industry-ready hairdressing skills, including professional client consultations, cutting hair to create a variety of looks, colouring and colour correction techniques, and styling and dressing hair using a range of methods. You’ll learn to monitor and maintain health and safety in the salon, promote and sell products and services, and create specialist looks such as bridal hairstyling, preparing you for confident work in a commercial salon environment.
Assessment, exams, End Point assessment EPA, Knowledge units: Quiz & theory presentations
There are no formal prerequisite qualifications that you must have prior to undertaking this qualification. Your centre will have ensured that you have the required knowledge, understanding and skills to enrol and successfully achieve this qualification.

Course Cost for Level 3
- £3,345 if using government funding (Advanced Learner Loan)
- £3,345 + VAT (£4,014 total) if self-funding
Course fees are set by HM Government and published by the Education and Skills Funding Agency on the Learning Aims Reference Service (LARS).

To qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan, you must:
- Be aged 19 or over
- Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
- Be a UK national or have the right to live and work in the UK
