The VTCT Level 1 Diploma in Hairdressing develops practical skills in hair and beauty, including salon reception, styling, temporary colour, shampooing, conditioning, and retail. You'll also learn creative hair techniques like barbering, plaiting, twisting, and Afro-textured styling, plus scalp massage. This qualification also covers health and safety, providing a solid foundation for further learning and enabling you to perform services and assist in a salon setting.

Am I Eligible?
To enrol on a fully funded Study Programme, you must:
- Be aged 16 to 19 on 31st August before the academic year starts
- Be living in England and eligible for state education funding
- Not already hold a full Level 3 qualification (depending on the programme)
We also welcome learners with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) up to age 25.
Provide cutting, colouring, and styling services in salon or freelance settings. Consult with clients and create tailored styles based on hair type and preferences.
Oversee daily salon operations including bookings, staff supervision, and inventory. Ensure high standards of service and customer satisfaction.
Offer professional hair services at clients’ locations. Manage schedule, equipment, and consultation while ensuring excellent client care.
Specialise in colour treatments from balayage to root touch-ups. Maintain deep understanding of products, colour theory, and client safety.
Install and maintain hair extensions using various techniques. Consult with clients on suitable styles and perform aftercare guidance.
Teach foundational and advanced hairdressing techniques. Develop lessons, deliver demos, and mentor students in formal or private settings.
